Running AI air-gapped requires open-source models executed entirely locally, local document indexing, and updates applied manually. It is the highest level of sovereignty, impossible with ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini or any cloud AI.
A defence subcontractor installs its document assistant on a server with no Internet connection at all. Technicians query drawings and procedures from the workshop; updates arrive on a controlled storage device.
