GDPR and AI

The application of the General Data Protection Regulation to processing carried out by artificial intelligence systems.

As soon as an AI tool processes personal data, names in a contract, customer emails, meeting verbatims, the GDPR applies in full: legal basis for processing, minimization, informing individuals, framing transfers outside the EU and the right of access. Breaches expose you to fines of up to 4% of annual worldwide turnover or 20 million euros.

The main friction point with American cloud AI is the transfer of data outside the EU and the possible access by foreign authorities. A sovereign deployment (on-premise or a trusted European cloud) radically simplifies compliance: data never leaves the company's perimeter.
